Gifts of money, personal objects, property, stocks etc. will be accepted at the discretion
of the Board of Trustees if the terms attached are acceptable.
The library accepts gifts of books or other materials with the understanding that they will
be added to the collection only as needed. Donated books will be accepted into the
collection under the guidance of the Book Selection Committee. Every effort will be
made to place those books where they will be used, sold, or recycled.
The library is unable to provide valuations of books or other objects.
Materials which no longer serve the objectives of the library will be discarded and
disposed of at the discretion of the Board of Trustees, the Book Selection Committee, and
or the Librarian Director. Maintenance of the collection is a continuous process. In order
to promote circulation, worn or obsolete materials will be sold or discarded annually.
Donated books and materials that have been stored during the year, for the library annual
book sale, will be discarded or donated elsewhere due to storage limitations.

10 x 10 tents will be available for loan to nonprofits in our community with the understanding
that the library association will be responsible for delivery, setup, and breakdown of the tents.
Arrangements for borrowing must be made with the Library Director in conjunction with a
Board Trustee who will take responsibility for the delivery, setup, and breakdown.
The projector is available for loan to patrons. A barcode has been affixed to it for better
management of use.
Tables will not be made available for loan.

Fund maintenance: Withdrawals from the Sheena Fraser Memorial Fund will be based
on the recommendations of the Maine Community Foundation to guarantee growth of the
fund, while supporting the purposes of the endowment.
Income from the Sheena Fraser Memorial Fund will support the following:
Books: Books are selected by the Book Selection Committee and may include books for
adults or children on all aspects of gardening, landscaping and nature as well as
biographies pertinent to those subjects.
Lecture: An annual lecture on a gardening or nature topic, traditionally held in late
spring or early summer.
Landscaping and grounds: Funds may be spent on landscaping and permanent
plantings such as trees and shrubs. Also on seasonal decorations of natural materials,
such as annuals for the planters by the entry, Christmas wreaths, and Halloween
decorations.
