Brr. It's getting colder at night. And wasn't that last snowfall extraordinary!!!
The Annual Waterford Community Christmas is on Sat. Dec. 16th from 4-6pm
4pm. Meet at the Waterford Congregational Church where first graders will read their essays.
Followed by Caroling around the Village Christmas Tree on the Waterford Common.
5pm. Meet at the Waterford Library for refreshments, Harpist Elizabeth Roth, Story Time, and a Visit from SANTA. All children will receive new books too. ALL WELCOME.
Throughout the year there are opportunities for Community sharing, assistance, and and volunteering. We welcome you to attend an event here at the library, or attend one of the other Community, Nonprofit, and church events. And, please let us know of any others as well.
Full list of all the various programs and activities are found under 2023 Community Calendar,
on our Facebook page, and on the town website: www.waterfordme.org
Come join our weekly Story Time for pre-school kids each Tuesday morning 10:30am - @1pm.
Each week volunteers read a few books to the children, followed by a fun activity and a snack.
Super fun for the little ones, and their parents too. Hope to have this year-round.
The Waterford Library is delighted to announce new Heat Pumps were installed in January 2023. This project was made possible by a grant from the Association for Rural & Small Libraries through the generosity of a regional partner foundation. Additional funds provided by private donations and total costs were offset by rebates from effiencyMaine. We are most grateful.
The Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL) builds strong communities through professional development and elevating the impact of rural and small libraries. ARSL recognizes the uniqueness of small and rural libraries and is committed to providing an environment that encourages excellence within this community of practice, supporting their goals of service and speaking on behalf of this important constituency. Since 1 in 3 public libraries in the U.S. serve a population of fewer than 2,500 people, there is a great opportunity to support these library professionals that are often overlooked. We believe in the value of rural and small libraries and strive to create resources and services that address national, state, and local priorities for libraries situated in rural communities.
